For eleven years I could have told you exactly where Daniel was at any hour of the day. That was the kind of marriage we had, or the kind I thought we had. Predictable in the good way. He left at seven-forty, came home a little after six, and on Thursdays he stayed late because Thursdays were "deck review," whatever that meant in his world of slide decks and quarterly targets.
