Ask what is being hidden, why it is hidden, and whether the messages would feel different if both people knew about them. Sexual content, romantic language, deleting messages, or repeated private intimacy can carry more weight than the app itself.
The goal is not courtroom proof. It is a clear conversation about agreements, impact, and what honesty would look like now.
