Look for actions, not perfect lines
A repair attempt can be an apology without a “but,” a request for a pause, acknowledgment of impact, or a return to a conversation that was previously avoided. The point is not to erase harm quickly.
After betrayal, repair also means consistent follow-through: answering agreed questions, keeping boundaries, and responding to pain without calling it inconvenient. If attempts are mocked or repeatedly abandoned, that is useful information too.
