How we create relationship guides responsibly

BetrayStories publishes anonymous stories and practical guides for people navigating betrayal, trust, boundaries, and difficult relationship decisions. Our guides are written to be clear, compassionate, and useful without pretending that one article can know what is right for every person.

What our guides are for

We explain common concepts, offer questions for reflection, and connect readers with stories and private tools that may help them name what they are experiencing. We use plain language and distinguish evidence-backed information from editorial interpretation.

What our guides are not

BetrayStories is not therapy, legal counsel, medical care, or emergency support. We do not diagnose people, prescribe a relationship outcome, or encourage surveillance, coercion, retaliation, or unsafe confrontation. If someone is in immediate danger or may harm themselves or another person, they should contact local emergency or crisis support.

Sources and fact checking

Articles that make factual, psychological, health, or legal-adjacent claims include a visible source list. We prefer primary research, respected health and public-interest organizations, established publishers, and original book publishers. Sources are reviewed before publication and reconsidered when a guide is materially updated.

AI assistance and human review

AI may assist with outlining or drafting, but it does not publish content on its own. A staff editor reviews every guide for accuracy, safety, tone, internal links, citations, and SEO metadata before it is published. We do not publish invented citations or represent AI-generated text as clinical expertise.

Anonymous stories and privacy

Story links are selected for relevance and are presented without identifying details. They are emotional-support reading, not evidence about a reader’s own relationship or a substitute for professional help.

Updates and corrections

Published guides show their publication and review dates. We revisit core guidance at least annually and correct material inaccuracies promptly. To report a concern, please use our contact page.
