He spent the whole ride confessing to a stranger, and the stranger turned out to be the worst possible one.

It was a little after eleven and the rain had thinned to a mist when I climbed into the back seat. I'd had a long day and wanted nothing more than silence. The driver had other plans. Before we'd even cleared the parking lot he'd told me his name was Idris, that he drove "for the freedom," and that his wife didn't understand him.
